MVI was selected to install the windows and doors for Colorado's 1st 100% passive house.
We invest the time in training to be the windows experts. Here learning about the mulling of windows.
Learning about the window tempering process
Not all caulk and foam is the same. We conduct our own experiments to carefully select what works best.
Ensuring a very clean look with no caulk lines is part of the MVI difference.
Carefully weather sealing over the nail fin is just one part of the MVI difference.
A view of the entire window taped and sealed from the elements of the Colorado weather.
Many installers use latex caulking which will crack and peel. MVI never uses latex caulking on the exterior for just this reason.
This is an example of silicone caulking (white) and latex (under the green paint) and why we don't use these types of caulking.
This is a picture of "L channel" on the exterior. A tell tale sign that the installer used a smaller window resulting in less glass, light and leaving bigger gaps for air and water to leak in.
This is another "L channel" installation with a poor caulking
When we caulk brick we use "Quickcrete" mortar repair. It is not only long lasting but blends better with the existing mortar joints.
Look at the clean and even lines we leave behind.
